Class-Specific Questions:

Can my child start before they turn 2 years and 7 months?
No- the "2 years and 7 months" guideline is set by the state for schools like Little Friends; if your child will turn 2 years and 7 months by December, you may register them ahead of time to "reserve" their space, but they will not be able to begin until they reach 2 years and 7 months of age.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?
Beginning with our 3-year-old classes, our teachers will NOT change diapers/pull ups; while your child is not required to be potty trained, they must wear a pull up if they are having frequent accidents/are not using the potty, and if a student has a bowel movement or an overly saturated pull up or diaper, parents will be contacted and expected to come in to change the student.
Students in our 2's/Young 3's class are not required to be potty trained, and diapers will be changed if necessary.

Does Little Friends accommodate dietary restrictions/allergies, special needs/support needs, etc.?
Yes.  Parents are required to indicate any allergies/dietary restrictions on the registration form; teachers will be sure to keep the student from eating any snacks with restricted ingredients.  For severe allergies, teachers are trained to use epi-pens and may keep one in the student's backpack or in the classroom at the parents request, but an emergency plan form must be signed by the child's pediatrician first and will be kept on file in the office.

Can I send in snacks for my child if they are a picky eater?
Generally, no.  We encourage students to try new foods, and prefer that all students are participating in the class snack for the day.  We keep "basic" items such as pretzels, goldfish, etc. on-hand in the event a student refuses to try the day's snack, but we do not allow students to bring their own snacks every day.  This allows teachers to easily keep track of what students are eating and make sure that students with allergies do not unknowingly ingest unsafe foods.

For students with severe allergies or dietary restrictions, parents may choose to send snacks in daily or keep a stash of "approved" snacks in the classroom for teachers to provide if the snack option of the day is not safe.
